Living with nature

With its diverse nature and the typical hilly orchards, the Pöllau Valley is a particularly characteristic and ecologically valuable cultural landscape. The region has been allowed to call itself a “nature park” since 1983. And the people here feel deeply committed to this title. Many of them contribute to pioneering developments in the fields of education, recreation, nature conservation and regional development.

Our nature park stretches from 345 to 1280 metres above sea level, creating a unique mosaic full of variety. Here you can see biodiversity and, thanks to the orchards worthy of protection, also taste it. In other words, you can explore and experience nature with all your senses.

Learning in and with nature

Pöllau Castle is located in the centre of the Pöllau Valley. It offers event facilities such as a large and small fresco hall, a refectory as well as seminar and exhibition rooms. This modernly furnished castle is the headquarters of the Academy for Sustainability. In addition, our events take place at corporate role model locations and especially outside in the beautiful nature.

Many roads lead to the Academy for Sustainability in the Nature Park Pöllau Valley in the Styrian district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld.
